Ceftriaxone is a third generation cephalosporin antibiotic that is administered in higher dosage (2 GM) in serious and resistant bacterial infections. It acts by preventing the synthesis of the cell wall of bacteria, killing the bacteria. Hospitalized patients with severe infections that need broad-spectrum coverage preferably.
